This CLE will examine the most significant petitions for discretionary review where review has been granted but not decided by, the Court of Criminal Appeals.

Mark Stevens began his law career working with the firm Levey and Goldstein after graduating from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1979. Since 1983, Mark has practiced as a criminal defense lawyer in and around San Antonio. Mark is one of the rare attorneys who practices both trial and appellate law and does both extremely well. Mark freely gives of his time and knowledge to his colleagues either through one on one discussions or the over 100 CLEs he has taught across the State. He is the 2021 winner of the prestigious Warren Burnett Award, which recognizes the extraordinary contributions to improving the quality of criminal legal representation to indigent Texans. Mark was also inducted into the TCDLA Hall of Fame earlier this year.
